"Psyche" frame and pins

"When we define a photograph as a motionless image, this does not mean that the figures it represents do not move; it means that they do not emerge, do not leave: they are anesthetized and fastened down, like butterflies."
Roland Barthes

Some close up shots of a framed 30x30 cm exhibition print. The pin in the belly button is a symbol of the preparation of scientific butterflies. The pins are original insect pins from Austria. The frames are about 5 cm in depth so they contain the pin perfectly behind glass.
